Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Servings: 6

1 pound of ground beef

1 chopped onion

1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce

1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans

1 can (14 1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes

1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies

1 cubed sweet potato

Water (optional)

1 teaspoon of chili powder

A pinch of garlic powder

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

Sour cream (optional)

Sliced avocado (optional)

In a large saucepan over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion for about 5-7 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the onion is soft.

Add the tomato sauce, kidney beans, stewed tomatoes (including their juices), diced tomatoes with green chilies, and cubed sweet potato to the pan. If you prefer a thinner consistency, incorporate water as needed.

Season the mixture with chili powder and garlic powder, adjusting salt and pepper to your liking.

Bring everything to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for 15 minutes.

Optionally, serve topped with sour cream and sliced avocado.
