Get the best skin, hair & nails for summer …

Regardless of how busy you are, an effective beauty routine for summer readiness exists for every woman. This guide will help you achieve the ideal hair, skin, and nails at home, even if you’re only afforded a handful of minutes. (After all, managing a busy life takes time!)

In Just 5 Minutes …

Face

Dedicate a few minutes to a jade facial roller to refresh and energize your complexion. Used for centuries in China, jade rollers harness the calming nature of the stone alongside gentle facial massage benefits. “The cooling sensation of jade alleviates stress, minimizes puffiness and dark circles, and tightens skin,” explains Sarah Walker, NP from McLean Dermatology and Skincare Center. Begin from the center of your neck, gently rolling upward to your hairline.

Hair

“Brushing your hair and scalp is often overlooked,” states Austin-based hairstylist Micky Kibbe. “It removes dirt and debris, prevents blocked drains from shedding hair, and encourages scalp stimulation.” He recommends brushing your hair gently but thoroughly before shampooing, detangling from the ends upward to the roots.

Nails

Indulge in a quick manicure without the polish. “Five minutes is sufficient to revive neglected, dry cuticles,” suggests dermatologist Dana Stern, founder of Dr. Dana Beauty. Start by pushing back cuticles with a washcloth post-shower, then trim any hangnails with sharp nail clippers (avoid cutting the cuticle). Hydrate cuticles with sunflower oil to enhance nail flexibility and reduce brittleness.

With 30 Minutes to Spare …

Face

Topical probiotics are your new best friend. “Products containing probiotics gently exfoliate and provide antimicrobial care that soothes blemished or lackluster skin,” shares Paula Simpson, a nutritionist and co-founder of Zea Skin Solutions. Probiotic-infused beauty items—from sprays to cleansing oils—are currently trending. Vegan options are also available.

If you have a half-hour, Simpson recommends a probiotic mask to detoxify your skin. Combine a probiotic capsule with 4 tablespoons of soy yogurt and spread the mixture evenly over your face (avoiding the eye area). Alternatively, use a plant-based liquid probiotic mixed with a touch of olive oil. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing with a warm washcloth and applying moisturizer.

Hair

Kibbe suggests indulging your hair with coconut oil in an effortless 30-minute hydrating treatment, perfect for ultra-dry scalp and hair. Begin applying the oil from the ends to the scalp, then use a comb to distribute it evenly. Slip on a shower cap and enjoy your current Netflix series for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it out with cool water.

Hands

Hands often reveal early signs of aging, as our mothers warned us. Although we can’t rewind time to apply sunscreen, using glycolic acid can help address the damage. Many natural products meant for the face can also be used on your hands. Apply them two to three times a week for optimal results, followed by natural sunscreen afterward.

If You Can Dedicate 2 Hours …

Skin

Two uninterrupted hours devoted to skincare is a dream scenario for self-care enthusiasts. Start with a dry body brush to remove dead skin cells and promote circulation, emphasizing your hips, thighs, and arms. Prepare a soothing seaweed and Epsom salt bath; Simpson assures that it will help remove toxins, soften skin, and relax fatigued muscles. Don’t forget to apply an oatmeal face mask, grab a good book, and unwind.

Hair

You don’t need a salon visit to pamper your hair! Treat yourself to a full wash, a meticulous rinse, and repeat with a scalp massage while showering. Once you’re done, take your time styling—Kibbe states this will help your blowout last significantly longer. Finish with a few drops of marula or argan oil as a moisturizing leave-in. Both options are lightweight and won’t leave your hair looking greasy.

Feet

Having spent months tucked away in boots and gloves, your feet deserve a thorough pedicure before sandal season arrives. Begin by removing any old polish, then exfoliate to eliminate dead skin and calluses, as advised by Dr. Stern. Conclude with a rich moisturizer like shea butter and a blend of lavender oil with a carrier oil of your choice. Slip on cozy socks, transforming a simple routine into a soothing bedtime ritual.
