Elevate your summer get-togethers with a refreshing treat by creating a delightful Orange Mango Granita. Featuring a unique blend of ripe mangos and zesty orange tangerine juice, this frozen dessert is an excellent solution for keeping your guests refreshed. Its light, crystalline structure makes it an irresistible choice for warm-weather gatherings.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of Juicy Juice® 100% Orange Tangerine Flavor Juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 medium ripe mangos, peeled and diced (approximately 2 cups), or 1 package (16 oz.) of thawed frozen mango cubes
Directions:
- In a small saucepan, mix the Orange Tangerine Flavor Juicy Juice® 100% Juice with the sugar. Heat until boiling, then remove from the heat and let cool slightly.
- In a blender or food processor, combine the mango pieces with the cooled juice mixture and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture through a fine sieve into a shallow baking dish, discarding any solids. Place in the freezer for 3 to 4 hours, stirring and breaking up any ice clumps every hour. This granita can be prepared up to 2 days in advance and kept frozen in a covered container. Prior to serving, fluff the surface with a fork to achieve a crystalline consistency.
- Serve the granita in bowls, garnished with slices of mango, pomegranate seeds, and a sprinkle of grated lime peel, if desired.
